Beauty tips to enhance your skin care regimen

by John Russel
Looking and feeling beautiful is a daily goal for most women and even men. However, a lot of us are often put off by the amount of beauty products on the market and aren't really sure if we are buying the right ones. Well the one thing that you do need to ensure when it comes to your beauty regimen is that you are equipped with the right tools to do the job, but where exactly do you start with doing this? Well, before you can get into applying make-up and doing your hair, you need to ensure that you cleanse thoroughly but to do this you need to make sure you have the right cleanser.

It has been proven by several dermatologists that one of the best beauty tips around is to use the gentlest cleanser you can find and ensure that you use it cautiously and in moderation. One of the worst things that you can do when it comes to cleansing is to simply use soap and water. If you are using soap and water, then it is a good idea to rethink your cleansing strategy as the PH level of the soap could be too strong for your facial skin. It is also for this reason that you shouldn't wash your face several times a day. This is because over cleansing will not help your skin and if you are using a harsh product, such as soap, then you could in fact be causing harm to your skin.

If you cleanse your face more than twice a day, chances are you could actually damage the natural lipid barrier of your skin, which is the protective lubrication that keeps skin looking and feeling healthy. By damaging this protection your skin could lose it forever, which would mean the integrity of the skin barrier is disrupted and your skin could become dry, causing it to crack, itch, and/or peel. The result of this could mean you end up looking older than you actually are. In order to stop this from happening, it is very important that you don't cleanse your skin more than twice a day, generally first thing in the morning and last thing at night after you have taken your make-up off.

When you have cleansed your face you will be ready to apply your make-up. You could have the best eyeshadow pallet for this and the most expensive foundation as well as high-class bronzer, however, without the right brushes etc. to apply this then the benefits associated with them will be lost. What you shouldn't be doing is applying such aspects using your fingers as, even though it may not feel like it, you would actually be pulling the skin on your face, which could go on to lose firmness. The right brushes and application tools, however, would ensure that the products you are applying go on as they were intended to in order to achieve the look that you want. These brushes and application tools are also gentle on your skin, meaning they won't pull your skin out of shape. So how do you know if the brush you are using is a good one?

The make-up brushes and application tools that you use as part of your beauty regimen should also feel soft and mild when pressed onto your skin; however, it is important that they also have the right substance to move the product sufficiently over your skin. Think of it this way, a bad brush is one where the product such as eyeshadow or blusher falls off before you make it to your face.

The above demonstrates that the importance associated with your beauty regimen doesn't just revolve around the products that you use; it also revolves around how you use them. This is more important than a lot of people realize so to ensure that you truly get the most out of your products make sure you apply them in the right way.
